Yaniv Oded - Instructional Designer and Educational Technology Specialist
Hi, my name is Yaniv, and I am currently a Hebrew Teacher, Educational Technology Specialist and an Instructional Designer at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC).
I am also a student at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS), where I am working on a Master’s in Teaching Foreign Languages with Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), which is actually my third Master’s degree (I have an MA in Middle Eastern Studies and an MSc in Instructional Science and Technology - see My BIO).
My aim through this website is to share with you some of my beliefs, ideas and past/present projects as a Learner, Language Teacher, Instructional Designer and a Faculty Development Specialist for Foreign Language Education (FLED) and Educational Technology.
My Website name, IST-ETI which stands for Instructional Systems Technology - Educational Technology Integration, represents two of my key passions, Instructional Design and Technology Integration (in this specific order!). I came up with this name because I was looking for a simple, short acronym through which I could both express my dual passion and keep my domain name short.
I am mentioning this 'naming' anecdote because it is also rather telling about who I am. My focus is on people and the theories or overarching ideas that guide them; from there I move to implementation where pragmatics and results are my key driving force in an effort to accomplish those overarching ideas in a cost-efficient manner.
